Often, Christians dismiss the teaching of the Bible concerning tithing. They think tithing is not necessary under the New Testament. Christ taught to give as you have been blessed, or as we call it, "Proportional Giving". It may result in giving far more that the tenth! Think about it.
Genesis 14:20 And
blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine
enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's
house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the
tenth unto thee.

the fifth part thereof.
Lev 27:32 And
concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of
whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
Lev 27:33 He
shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change
it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change
thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
Numbers 18:21
And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in
Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even
the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Numbers 18:22
Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the
tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and
die.
Numbers 18:23 But
the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the
congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it
shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that
among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
Numbers 18:24 But
the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an
heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to
inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of
Israel they shall have no inheritance.
Numbers 18:26
Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them,When ye take of
the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from
them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering

tithe.

shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy
wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of
thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the
LORD thy God
always.
Deut 14:24 And if
the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry
it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God
shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath
blessed thee:
Deut 14:25 Then
shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine
hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall
choose:
Deut 14:26 And
thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth
after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or

that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine
hand which thou doest.
Deut 26:12 When
thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase
the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it
unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow,
that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
Deut 26:13 Then
thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the
hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto
the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and
to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast
commanded me: I have not transgressed thy
commandments,
neither have I forgotten them:
Deut 26:14 I have
not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away
ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given oughtthereof for the
dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and
have done according to all that thou hast
commanded me.

down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people

finished them in the seventh month.
2 Chron 31:8 And

Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites
concerning the heaps.

Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and
said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into
the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left

that which is
left is this great store.

that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our
offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto

and we will not
forsake the house of our God.
Neh 12:44 And at
that time were some appointed over the chambers for the
treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes,
to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the
portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced
for the priests and for the Levites that waited.
Neh 13:5 And he
had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they
laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the
tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was
commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers,
and the porters;
and the offerings of the priests.

to receive it.
Matthew 23:23 Woe

have done, and not to leave the other undone.

woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of

twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
